Kingsbury 4-H Club Swears In New Officers

On Thursday, August 10, 2017 the new 2017 officers of the Kingsbury 4-H Club were sworn in during a candle-lighting ceremony at the Kingsbury Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Mayor Nolen swore in each member into their office and lit each officer's candle that symbolized the 4-H's (Head, Heart, Hand, and Health) and that 4-H work kindles high desires.

Awards and trophies were then presented and a business meeting was held.

The incoming officers are:

President - Morgan Ragland

Vice President - Lexi Bertling

Second Vice President - Morgan Carnes

Secretary - Cammi Bertling

Treasurer - Mariah Castilleja

Reporter - Montana White

Historian - Madison Maples

Parliamentarians - Christian Bertling, Luke Bertling

Council Delegates - Melyssa Ragland, Lexi Bertling

Awarded for achievement:

Leadership, Junior - Morgan Carnes

Leadership, Intermediate - Melyssa Ragland

Leadership, Senior - Tayler Palmer

4-H'er of the Year - Melyssa Ragland

Rookie of the Year - Mariah Castilleja

The "Clover Kids" (teacher Bailey Bottorf) received trophies for all of their involvement in activities in the past year. Two of the Clover Kids will be showing for the first time this year - how exciting!

Thanks to the efforts of Managers Peggy Clingingsmith, Robert Swift, and Crystal Bertling and all of the members and their parents, the Kingsbury 4-H is one of the most active clubs in our area and in Guadalupe County! We welcome the new officers into their roles and wish the Kingsbury 4-H good luck at the Guadalupe County 4-H Achievement Banquet next week.
