Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Winter begins on the Winter Solstice this Monday, it's National Candy Cane Day and National Flashlight Day this week, the Christmas Star when Jupiter and Saturn align will be seen in the night sky this week, get some Christmas shopping in at the Farmer's Market which sets up in downtown Kingsbury every Sunday, the week in Texas history "Santa" robbed the bank in Cisco in 1927, the Kingsbury city commission will have their next regular meeting this Monday, and an awesome picture of some local girls with the Kingsbury District school bus in the early 1940s.

Information on the December night skies and meteor watching, it's National Monkey Day and National Cupcake Day this week, get your Christmas shopping done at the Farmer's Market that sets up each Sunday in downtown Kingsbury, the next Volunteer Work Day at the Pioneer Flight Museum is this Saturday, the Kingsbury VFD Auxiliary put together and delivered Christmas boxes for people in our fire district, there are only 11 days 16 hours 6 minutes and 25 seconds until Christmas, in Kingsbury news past the February 19, 1876 edition of the San Antonio Express reported on the competing stagecoach lines that ran to and from Kingsbury and the Sioux, Arrapahoes, and Cheyennes are preparing for an outbreak, Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is published this week in 1843, and a really great picture of a "stack" of Kingsbury girls at the old school in the early 1940s.

Thanksgiving is this Thursday, it's National Espresso Day and National Jukebox Day this week, in Kingsbury news past the February 8, 1876 edition of the San Antonio Express reported on the difficulties corresponding from Kingsbury and a Capt. King is driving 10,000 head of cattle to Kansas, this week in American history Blackbeard the pirate is killed in a bloody battle, the outdoor burn ban has been reinstated for Guadalupe County, and a wonderful set of pictures of the Kingsbury downtown around 1900 and some Power's Store letterhead from "189_".

Veterans Day is this Wednesday, raffle tickets are available for the Longhorn Quilt and a handmade Bowie knife benefitting the Kingsbury VFD, the Fall Wings & Wheels Fly-In at the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome is coming up November 14th, the Kingsbury Fall Harvest Festival is scheduled for November 14th in downtown Kingsbury, Friday the 13th is this week, the Farmer's Market sets up every Sunday in downtown Kingsbury, the next Farmer's Market scheduled for November 15th will not be held due to the Fall Harvest Festival, there will be a Dessert Contest at the Fall Harvest Festival, and some fabulous pictures of a First National Bank of Kingsbury bank book.
